Hello There;

So a while ago, I moved my VST plugins to a different location so that it could be more convenient for me to load them in quicker, instead of having to direct the file explorer to the same location each and every time I was changing a plugin. But because of this, which was something I should've realized sooner, my projects weren't able to upload the VST. So I put them back to the same place to fix this, but now every time I try and load them, they're not even shown inside the folder as VST plugins. I'm not sure if I'm needing to re-download more and replace the old ones, or something. Does anyone have any suggestions or solutions? Thanks.

What operating system are you using ?

How are you trying to load them, from within Vestige ? Have you got Edit/Settings/Paths/VST-Folder pointing to the right folder ? Or when you navigate to the folder they're in what does it show if not the VST .dlls ?

Could you perhaps have had a slightly different file/ folder structure before?
The thing you have to do is to make sure your Settings are pointing exactly to the new place.
Any project relies on the path in your Settings, so if the physical structure on disk are ever so different (one letter or space is enough), then lmms wont find the files.

I'm using a Windows 10 64 bit operating system. Yes, I'm trying to load them through Vestige, and I do have the directory pointing to the folder. The only files it shows are the files that were inside the folder when I installed LMMS; few things like additional folders and other .dlls that I don't really use with Vestige.(ladspabrowser.dll, midiimport.dll)

Hmmm. This is a strange problem.

In the Settings menu, do you have any weird symbols
eg. $ % # * etc. in any folder path?
If so, that might be one of the causes, of this strange problem.

Tell us how it goes from there.

'weird' mean ascii-chars. LMMS will only use/ accept UNI-chars

Well, in response to both musikbear and brandystarbrite, No, I haven't seen any weird ascii characters in the directory folders. But I have tried to load in VSTs with the method provided in the wiki, using the VeSTige instrument.

This sounds like you have your VST-Plugin path pointing at LMMS's own internal plugins folder (C:Program File/LMMS/plugins). You should really have your VSTs in a separate folder and the path pointing to that one.

I've never tried what you're doing but it wouldn't surprise me if LMMS is getting confused when you try to pick up VSTs from the same folder that contains all the LMMS internal (non-VST) instruments, including Vestige itself.

This makes sense. I'll make a new folder and relocate the plugins to see if that does anything, however It's strange because when I first started downloading VST plugins, putting them in this folder I had no problems at all with uploading them into my songs.

Sorry, but now I have another question; I changed the file directory to point to a new folder I made which has all of the VST plugins, and so VeSTige is able to see the plugins as instruments again. Now, though, when upon loading my songs, the individual instruments have difficulty locating those folders. I realize that they're still looking in the old directory for them. Is there a way to change that? If not, I'm pretty sure I might have to redo all of my settings for them.
