VSTs Crash Everytime in LMMS

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
So I was making another song with LMMS, and I wanted to use Serum because I got some presets from Cymatics that I wanted to try out. So I loaded up the VST, and for whatever reason, whenever I try to do pretty much anything with Serum, it just ends up crashing. Can you tell me what to do?

OS: Windows 10 64-bit
RAM: 4GB
CPU: Intel Pentium 1.8GHz

im afraid the only thing you can do is not to use that vst. There a hundreds of vst's that works with lmms, but my gues is that for every ~50 you try, one will fail. It is all down to the way these vst's are build, some does it properly, other uses shortcuts with 'kits' and drag&drop blocks-builders. I suspect that one of these popular fast-builders creates vst's that lmms does not like. I have studied the way these 'failers' write data, and they drop literary millions of chars into the s.c. chunk, which should be counted in a few thousand chars. Even my code-editor struggles and burbs when this chunk is loaded, so the reason for the hang is known, but the how to avoid is totally not. Im afraid some vsts simply cant be used.

Finally
For VST I strongly recommend Synth1

Synth1, zasfx, AFP, and 3oc -well thats close to what is needed.
Well, I guess if Synth1 can work good, I guess I'll use those.

But I don't understand why Serum is listed under the VST Database. You know, the list of the VSTs that are confirmed to work with LMMS.

Ok, thanks for that!

Unfortunately its a wiki and everyone can change anything. I have now updated your findings, and a few more. Thanks for reporting that Serum was in the list!
Thinking about it,
If you're using an updated version of Serum, it's possible that something in Serums code,
is conflicting with Lmms' own code.
Maybe an older version of Serum might work. ;)
But then again, I don't know, since I've never used Serum. :)

I doubt Serum is the most used VST, afterall it costs $ 287.. !
But if any windows user has full success with Serum, please chime in.
I'm having the same problem, but with Synth1. I'm making a song that uses synth1 in 4 different tracks, and when i open the fourth track, i have to close lmms because it wont respond. This is also how my song that i finished today got deleted. Is it possible to get it back at all? Please help me, i've been stuck for 2 hours.             :(

That sound weird!
But yes you can rescue a song that has a hanging vst:

Do the steps after the bold :)

I would like to know your hw specifications, because the cpu footprint of Synth1 is tiny!

Serum works with Windows for shizzle. You just need oodles of CPU and RAM.
P.S. You can get a free demo for Serum on Xfer Records' website. You'll have to make an account though
God Bless and good day
