I've asked this before, and then (stupidly) deleted the post.
Is the novation launchpad compatible with LMMS, and if so, what works and what doesn't?

LMMS has basic support for generic MIDI controllers limited to playing notes and setting control values.

So I assume for support for midi output to launchpad (lights) LMMS can't do that?

As far as I can tell, that is correct.

I might just see if I can make it work through the standard midi.

when using these tools to switch the launchpad to mode 1 manually, I can use it perfectly with the lights working, by setting the input and output of a track to the launchpad.
Note input and light response works perfectly, and I can also use the launchpad as a drum pad using a drum soundfont.

Also, the control buttons along the top of the pad work perfectly.

Hi I was wondering how you use the python plugin that is linked? I don't see anywhere to add it and github doesn't seem to have directions. Thanks for any help you can provide. Happy holidays!
