Recreating a saw-ish synth

Hi,
I'd like a little help recreating a saw-ish synth in lmms, similar to the one at the start of this track:

Any help? It seems to be a saw wave, with something on it to make it slightly less harsh.

That i think is High-pass filtered saw + a bit square
It is also 'dead' eg there is no harmonics, only one 'tone', it may even be 8 or 16 bit
Also, no chorus and no reverb.

Monstro, zasfx and especially Synth1 would be candidates for generators.

this specific sound is actually a sample from the earthbound soundfont called "overdrive guitar" iirc, might be helpful
