Hello!
I have problem installing on Win10, it keeps giving me "NSIS Error: Error launching instller".
I've downloaded installation from lmms.io page, version 1.1.3. win64, tried to run it as admin, even tried with win32 version. Tried downloading with antivirus turned off, tried installing with av off.
Computer is brand new DELL Vostro, i7 proc, 4GB RAM, updated Windows, Mcafee antivirus.
Can you help me solve the problem?

Hi
Welcome to the forum madashatter! First, For you, all important links:
http://lmms.io/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=4740
And a few rules for posting and using the right sub-forum :)
An NSIS error mean that the package that you try to install, is defect.
Where did you get your dl from?
Only install files from our own site -here:
https://lmms.io/download/#windows
So the advice is to delete the package you have, clear your browser, and dl a new install-pack from our site!
Then install as admin.

Yes, I've downloaded it from that link, even tried now again with previously cleared cache and history. Still getting the same error.

ok..
That is really bad.
Important:
Can you install other .exe packs?
Try to install audacity:
http://www.audacityteam.org/
You will love the program in your work with lmms -almost mandatory needed :)
I do know a way for earlier windows versions. This highly NOT generally recommended!!
-But lets first try if you can install audacity, i would prefer not to go the other way
Can you please take a screenshot of the error?

Yeah, I've been using Audacity for years before

Successfully installed now and on this computer.
Pic of error:

And I've noticed a small shield over install icon:

UPDATE!!
While I was writing this post I've got an idea to try and download installation file on other partition of HDD and it works now!
So, when I was downloading in default Windows "Downloads" folder it didn't work, after downloading on different partition of HDD ( D: ) it works!
Successfully installed LMMS. Let's make music!

That is great, but you should check your HD for bad sectors, and if you find any, you should complain to Dell - I understand that your pc is band new? -Then bad sectors should not be present, and you should not accept that.
right-click the drive with the spooky partition. In properties, you should have tools for error checks. Run that

Thanks for advice but no bad sectors found. Probably it's just another Win10 security BS. But at least now you know what to suggest if some user has similar problem. Thanks for your time on this!

Wow! What an interesting way to solve this problem.
So you downloaded it on another partition etc. and now it works.
I find this really interesting.
