question about the patman module & *.PAT files ????

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
I was wondering if there is any type of software existing that could allow me to create custom
*.pat files for the patman module with use in LMMS ? I happened to download a collection of free
*.pat files for use with the patman, but these files are rather basic.... I have collections of sounds
I would like to use for building new custom synth/etc files to create my own and was wondering
if such a thing could be done??
pat files?
mmm.. patman uses GUS-patch-files. It was kind of a commercial locked SF-player. The GUS presets was quite pricy, and they did not reach any high popularity, because of high price, and no accessibility for end users. I doubt you will be able to find any software that can build GUS-patches
But would you mind sharing the link to the freepats? They don't ship with all LMMS distros afaik, and I'm sure some users would appreciate it.
If you use a musical keyboard, you may want to consider .sf2 files. They are easy to use, and I have a collection of over 300 sounds. Some of which have been customized, for my needs. Synthtopia is a good sound font editor.
Edit I forgot to mention Polyphone for editing sf2 files.
Interesting. I've never tried Patman before.

There are some good info and tools described here but I haven't found an editor.

PS Does anyone else get noise from this one?
I get noise when switching off looped mode while playing more than one note at a time.
No i will gladly share my GUs files, but in all honesty, they are not comparable with good SF-files

@musikbear and everyone else. Could you please see if you have the same noise that I do when playing multiple notes while looped mode is off

yep, its sound horrible
Not to repeat myself, but.. Dont use it..
Patman was included because zasfx wouldn't work in windows, asa zasfx started to work also in windows, i never opened a patman again. It is not better than SF, and there are significant fewer patches
On top on this, it looks like, as zonkmachine here have pointed out, there may be an issue 'now'.
That 'now' could be way back in time, cause patman has just not been used, i think.
Honestly..
Why the big interest for this outdated and actually quite redundant instrument -now-
LMMS does not need patman, for anything, except backward compatibility, and since noone has noticed the awful artefact before -now-, i would say that it indicates that noone has really used patman in the past. Imo patman could go, especially in the light of the new giga-patch ability ..

Well, a bug's a bug. I'm not going to waste any time on it though but it should be reported.
