Music Exposure

Anybody knows of a webpage or radio station where users or listeners are notified when new music "arrives" or something like that? I mean, where one's music can be exposed and actually listened to. I don't mean places where you can upload it and people look for it. Being unknown, means nobody will look for you or your music.
I've been looking around for a few months and found nothing. How do you promote your music? I don't have a social media presence, which I think it makes it more difficult. Any ideas or suggestions?

Youtube is your best friend here. Make yourself a youtube channel if you want other to be able to find you easier. It's hard to get subscribers with little or no content, so make sure you have some quality content first. For other to notice your channel, you need to be active. Find other small youtube channels and leave honest feedback on their music/videos. They'll appreciate it and check out your channel since you took the time to check out theirs. Don't just have a paste everywhere comment that you spam everyone's videos with, it won't work - leave honest feedback. Don't use a sub for sub service to "grow" your channel, the people who sub to you that way aren't interested in you channel, you will loose them all within 24 hours, or youtube's systems will catch on to it and remove them. You want a group of loyal interested subscribers who subscribed because they actually genuinely like your music and want to see more.
I started posting my music on my channel only a month ago - I had 2 videos and 4 subscribers. Now I have 3 videos and 68 subscribers - not much, but it's a starting point. You should also have at least facebook and twitter to let people know that you exist and drive traffic to your channel. You should have soundcloud too, but there aren't as many people on soundcloud as there are on youtube and facebook, and I have found that I get WAY more engagement on youtube than soundcloud.
Getting exposure involves a lot of hard work. Hope this helps. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.

This is a hobby and I'm not sure I'll be able to consistently maintain an account (youtube or otherwise), but I will look into it and there's a chance I'll do that at least while I try to look into other areas.
I was going to ask also if you're concerned that someone might steal your music. Any thoughts on that?

I don't really care if anyone steals my music that is currently up on my channel. It isn't the best, and the ones that I don't want people stealing, I could register with Youtube's content ID system so their system will detect it if someone uses it and flag their video. But right now, there isn't really anything worth stealing. Most people, if they really like your music, would rather buy the song than steal it.

Sorry about the late reply Gideon, I practically never log in anywhere...

I have hundreds of tracks and even though it's my opinion, I think they're really good (I got input from a few people and it was also very positive). Except for a few of my first tracks, (which might not be some of the best) I don't have them for sale since selling one or two here and there, doesn't really get much. I'm looking for a way to have even one track heard by a lot of people (not even sold, just heard) because that will get me a lot more than selling a few. It seems almost impossible without a social media presence and you really have to do it yourself.

I would be willing to make some tracks available if I knew that many people would get the chance to hear them, but I can't seem to find the way, I might have to talk to somebody who is already into social media and see if something can be done.

You shouldn't be afraid to build a platform for yourself. In order to do that, you'll have to be content with releasing some tracks that don't shatter the earth. They can't all be hits.

Wow, you have a lot on that page. I'll go through them and tell you what I think. I may promote some too although I have a relatively small fan base myself. Only 85 subscribers on Youtube and 108 followers on Twitter.

Turns out I can't listen to most of the songs. Oh well, went through the ones that I could listen to and I would like to hear the full version of these:
Miguel Villanueva - Ayuda
Miguel Villanueva - Capricho
Miguel Villanueva - Acidula
Miguel Villanueva - Villa Beat

In my opinion, those 4 are the best out of what I listened to.

You're right, they can't all be hits, but there's always that "uneasy" feeling on the back of my mind.

To Gideon:
I don't have any tracks online anywhere, I have just opened a soundcloud account and uploaded "Villa Coapa Beat".
I will think on whether upload some more and which ones, since I'm probably never going to be comfortable with uploading full tracks, maybe even clips...

I hope I got it right...
