Piano Roll is Silent Whenever I Play

Hi there,

I'm new to the LMMS scene, and whenever I try to open the piano roll to play around with notes to edit them, they don't make sound specifically from the piano roll. If I want to hear my work, I have to close the piano roll, open the song editor, and listen.

It's also really weird, since I removed a couple tracks, and the problem went away, then added an instrument (I think it was one of the latin samples) and immediately the problem arose for all of the tracks. I've tried restarting LMMS, and even uninstalling it, and reinstalling it, but the problem persists! Can anyone offer any help please??

Welcome to the forum.

The only thing I can see is some odd interaction with Beat/Bassline tracks. If you have one of those set up in the song (as in the default project) and you mute it either by soloing the instrument track you're working on or directly it will not play from Piano Roll only from Song Editor. If you either unmute the B/B track or remove it from the song then everything plays normally again.

I've never noticed it before because there's usually no point soloing a track you're editing. Playing from Piano Roll only plays that track anyway.
