The idea is to hold a periodic challenge in which each participant creates a project.

The central rule is that the project must utilise a certain set of stock LMMS samples. That set will change for each next challenge. Other samples are allowed, but the more creative you are with that set of samples, the better. Instruments and such are also allowed, but for sake of convenience it's best to stick to stock LMMS samples and native plugins.

This will not be a contest. Everyone has their own expression of music and creativity. Participating is more important than winning. :)
This sounds like a good idea caLRo.
But I think that, only Lmms' internal samples, should be used, and not any outside samples.
Sure!!! Not something I would do too often. Cause I am quite busy with my first load of projects. And school.

Also, I agree with Brandy. I don't mind a challenge 8-)
Once a month seems ok. It should be enough time for most of us to come up with something, but for some of us with a high track output it may be too slow-paced.

The poll needs more votes though, and how many samples should there be in a set? 5, 10, or more?

Hmmm.....I say 10 or slightly more, is good enough.
If possible, 15 samples, could probably be the cut off point.
what happened to this project? :D
This would be super cool. lol, i already made a song only using presets , i think i may post it on my soundcloud, idk. but i would love to do something like this
:!: Going ahead with this idea.

We will have the challenge on a monthly basis. There will be a list of 10 samples for each challenge. Around 30th September I will create a new forum topic and publish the list of chosen samples. The challenge will last until the start of the next one. Share your entries on SoundCoud, Youtube, etc. and provide links on that forum topic.

Spread the word. I will make another announcement a few days before we start.

Sweet, i feared it got forgotten.

I suggest that everyone try to use vanilla LMMS (no external samples/vst/effects) and publish their projects on LSP
By that we could learn one or two things from others and increase the general skill level from everyone.
