How to use LMMS for mixing?

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
Hi.
What's the proper way to use LMMS to mix bounced audio / audio files?
The sample track makes the program unbelievably slow as acknowledged here:
viewtopic.php?t=3620

The only other option I see is using the audiofileprocessor but it requires me to draw a really long note for the duration of the audio file. I tried zooming all the way out (25%) and dragging and dragging but it was taking so long I gave up. Isn't there any shortcut or smarther way to do this so that the note is the same length as the audio file?

Or is there any other way to import audio files and mix without causing any choppyness?

thanks

No
But 'choppyness' -does your lmms studder or glitch in BPM speed?
What is your HW, and how BIG! is that soundfile in MB? I suspect you have pageing of your ram, and you could (minefield!) look into priority settings, for lmms.

I meant interface choppyness which is the problem caused by the sample track.
The audio files I'm working with are rather small. 30MB at the most.
