Can't extract Skiessi's subpar all of the way.

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
Hello! I'm trying to extract Skiessi's subpar piece. I do so successfully, but when I play it and it gets to 1:53, it keeps going until the end but there's no sound whatsoever. It also affects the piece in its mmpz form, and I have to reload the mmpz piece in order to play it again.

Here's the link to the download for it -> https://lmms.io/lsp/?action=show&file=5375

Just as a helper, I noticed that when it gets to 1:53 and stops the sound it's at the part in the piece where the frequency controlled by an automation track is at its first highest point.

Thank you for looking into this! If you have any questions or anything that needs clarifying please let me know. :)

Ha! Thats much more than a 'helper', thats the reason :)
It has to do with the hw you have compared to his, when a frequency of an instrument hits a -very- low value, two thing takes place.
1) you cant hear it anymore
2) the oscillation takes loooong time

My guess is that you really cant see any activity in the Wave and CPU Usage Display:

Its still there, but it is moving slowly and almost as a completely horizontal line!
The solution can bee to lower the resonance on that specific instrument, or to change the base-value for the filter, so the lowest values wont be that low.
It didn't work, and I think I need to be more specific; I don't think I explained everything. When it hits the highest point in the piece all of the sound just stops playing in the piece. The piece in mmpz form is perfectly fine as long as I don't extract it, but when I do extract it that's when both the piece in .wav and mmpz form messes up, and I have to reload the piece in mmpz form in order for it to work entirely again.
Also, the instrument that is connected to the automation is in ZynAddSubFx, and when I lowered the resolution (ZynFx has three resolution filters, right?) I lowered the one saying RES BW and it ended up stopping at 1:11 instead..
Also, what do you mean by hw and changing the base value for the filter?

Thank you in advance! :D
Oki i will take a look at the actual. the part that it works in mmpz form, but not if you save it as mmp ('extract it??) is odd.
(ZynFx has three resolution filters, right?)
No, zasfx has a lot of filters, with a lot of subsettings. You can only choose one (for each voice..) in zasfx, and the filter is in lmms controlled with the FREQ-dial, but what you call 'resolution', Is named resonance
I have made tutorials on all these things, but you may need to start with the basic zasfx tutorial
This
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tQRvEa1Xv88
is the first tut where i go into the advanced settings
And this
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ZSGvjePUSI
is the firs of several, that explain filters and the setup :)

Also, what do you mean by hw and changing the base value for the filter?
That is the actual filter button in zasfx. That way you can control how 'deep' the lmms-ui can 'go' with the filter. (also in vid-tut :)
But, zasfx is with no doubt the most advanced and complicated plugin, not just in lmms, but most likely in the world! :p
Dont feel discurred that you dont grasp this at once. I have spend perhaps 100 hours (idk) and i -still- :O find new things !

So investigated it, and i have found several problems.
Non of the actual zasfx patches are producing any sound. That is something i have to look into in code, but so far, i do not know where the problem is. I do know however that you are not the only one that has problems with the file:
pretty solid track I say, kind of miss some pads or some synth tho...

iow. this guy cant hear any instruments
It crashes when I try to open.

he cant open

I could open, and i have also rebuild as mmp, så i can examine the xml, i cant however see any functional zasfx-patches in the file. They only create 'crackles' sound. (if you try ONLY ONE instrument, do you have any useable sounds??) I think the file is corrupt.
I think when Etorna_Z says "extract" it actually means "export" i.e. turn it into a .wav. I've just tested it and when you export it the .wav file is silent after about 2 minutes and so is the project when you play it in LMMS. It's also noticeable that the export shows 100% done at about that time but then carries on for another couple of minutes. When you close LMMS and reload the project all is normal again (until you do another Export).

None of that tells me very much but at least I suspect it's a somewhat clearer statement of what the problem is :).

Steve
Thank you for simplifying my statements slipstick! :D

Yes, I mean export. Forgive my noob ways. That's too bad the file could be corrupt, but oh well. At least it works in LMMS for me. Odds are Skiessi used patches that he downloaded himself, and didn't say anything about them when he uploaded it. He does that sometimes.
And the reason it keeps going after it says 100% done is because the file has its time sig to 8 and 4, the 8 above the 4. Files that have that setup export to 100% halfway through it but keep going until the end. It's weird.

So I tried exporting it with the instrument that was connected to the automation turned off, same problem.
Then I tried turning off the automation, it stopped playing in .wav form at 1:11 again.
Finally I did as musikbear suggested and just left one instrument on, the House Loop. Then the .wav file worked completely fine throughout the whole length.
Hopefully this helps you guys a little to figure out what the heck is going on? :D
I gave up on those zasfx cause the only made crackles..
Here is a new file:

File was uploaded successfuly on TinyUpload.com server.
You can download it from address: http://s000.tinyupload.com/?file_id=001 ... 8931632262

You can delete file from address: http://s000.tinyupload.com/?del_id=92842185149027438927

I even took time to make a proper FX-mixer-allocation, and balancing instruments a bit
good piece
Thank you for taking your time to do this musikbear! It's not Skiessi's style per se, but still pretty darn nice!
Y.w. I trust you know how to exchange the default 3oc's with your own, if not ask :)
