Change of sound module creates crash on startup?

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
I wanted to do some composition and thought "hey, maybe I can figure out what the best driver to use is?". I saw my sound was set on WASAPI and the speakers (a tv) showed up as their own option, and a "raw" option was also available....Well, I chose "raw" and that was the last straw for LMMS. I rebooted (or tried) to LMMS and got this "LMMS has stopped working" message. So far I've downloaded both the regular and development version (64-bit), uninstalled, reinstalled both, and the program complained that I was trying to reinstall the same DLL's that were residual from the install. "Ignore"d all the way through, still the same message. Deleted all the files in the program files directory, did an install from scratch, LMMS still tells me it's stopped working on launch. Just did a quick search of the registry for LMMS....removed registry entries, still problems. Updated CCleaner, looked for registry issues, resolved all.

The crash occurs at "opening audio and midi interfaces".

Y'know, I love this software because it's like FL but different, but this is the one time I've been truly stumped.
Windows? I hope that removing the setting-file fix it

Close lmms
Make sure nothing is running in the background in your 'task-manager'
If you do not know how to use TM, restart your pc.
In your
'Documents and Settings'
(or C:\Users\Username\
you have a file
.lmmsrc.xml
Observe the dot.
Use the search-tool, to find this file.
You cant rename this file, but you can move it!
Move it to one of the folders you have there - (like 'plugins')
Now restart lmms
You should be now asked to enter new settings, and these settings should be persistent.
If this fails, you can upload your .lmmsrc.xml, and we will take a look on it
Let us know if it worked :)

Besides that i can see that you are new in our forum, so-

Windows indeed...still trying to get used to 8's layout.
Thank you very much! Moving the .xml file worked. Just checking, this was the right sub-forum, right?
