Nexus2 VST stops working after project loading

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
When I load the Nexus 2 VST (http://refx.com/products/nexus/summary) in LMMS, it initially works just fine. However, when save the project and then load it again, the VST does not produce any sound. When I try to load a sound patch inside the VST, it hangs. LMMS also hangs. Whether I save a VeSTige preset first or not makes no difference.

This happens in the Linux as well as in the Windows version of LMMS. It happens in 0.4.12 as well as the current stable-0.4 Git sources.

If you need the VST's DLL for testing, please contact me (realnc@gmail.com).
After loading your project you need to reload the Nexus VST first and then load the preset again. Inconvenient yes, but at least this way it works...
Oh god, that's absolutely unusable.

This *REALLY* needs fixing. I'm not a masochist to use VSTs like that.
This is only necessary with certain VSTs, Nexus and Sytrus for example. On the other hand, z3ta+ loads correctly and many others also.
Being a Linux user I thought this had to do with the fact that Vestige uses wine to load the VST, but since you have the same problem in Windows there must be something else going on.
I agree that is is a pain, but if you have only a couple of instances of Nexus in a project, it's not such a big deal to reload them.
It's a pain. You need to remember to actually save the preset every time you tweak the VST. And tweaking samplers and synths usually doesn't involve a plan to begin with. You just do stuff and experiment. And when you forget to save that, you lose your tweaks. Or when you load a project and forget to load the VST preset LMMS hangs. Very annoying.

It's a major bug.

I"m going to have to say that I agree with this guy, having to reload the VST AND the preset each time you open up you project is certainly a major pain!!

And are you also saying you've just tried it and it's still like that 4.5 years and who knows how many releases later ? I guess that's what can happen when you try to use VSTs that are not in the VST database.

yeah after all these years too eh, i didnt know there was a database of VSTs that run smoothly.

There is, but MANY more does run perfect, but read:

The DB

I have actually wondered if a 'Does NOT work' list wouldent be better, cause most i try works just fine. Its the HUGE expensive commercial trials that most often does not, nor does the full version.

You have an interesting point there. :geek:
