I started working on a new song today. Everything was fine until I saved and closed it. When I opened it up again, every single time I tried to play it, the bpm jumped back to 140! It happens when I press the play button to start the song, and when it loops back to the beginning of the song, but not when I pause it part of the way through, then press the play button.

Does anyone know how to fix this? it is only happening with this one song, and I don't know why....

It's happened to me too and I don't know why. If I tried to open the file on another installation the problem was still there so the problem in my case was in the saved file. I somehow managed to fix it or work around it but I can't remember how right now.

The hidden global automation for your track somehow got set to 140 at the beginning. Just right-click the BPM and select "edit track global automation."
