Changing note without attacking (or changing note pitch)

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
I have this violin sample from Sonatina Symphonic Orchestra I'm loading with Sforzando VST. So when the note attacks (begins to play), the violin goes from low volume to high volume in a short time (kinda, don't know how to actually explain it properly), so each time you put a new note and the violin changes to it, the note re-plays and doesn't sound realistic, as the violin keeps going from low to high each time.

I've heard a way to solve this problem is to change note pitch with an automation track, but it seems way more complicated, and actually, I can't get it to work with this instrument. It may have something to do with Envelopes, LFOs and filters are not supported by the current instrument, I think, because changing pitch that way does work with the TripleOscillator.

So the question is, which is the best way to solve this problem? Sorry if I'm not explaining myself correctly, I just started using LMMS so I'm a bit of a newbie. Thanks for your time :)

so i'm guessing what you are asking is for a faster attack time(this would make the volume go from zero to 100 faster)? because pitch has nothing to do with it. pitch affects the the note itself, so say your playing the note C, if you changed the pitch, it would effect the sound of the note C. depending on how you changed the pitch, it could either get a higher sound, or a deeper sound.

back to your original question, i haven't used the VST myself, but changing the attack is not typically different. find a knob(or Slider) on your VST that says either A or Attack. and lower it. this will make the sound get to the max volume faster.

Hope this helps! and good luck!

EDIT: unless the VST doesn't allow you to change attack, because then you sadly can't do anything about it.

Must admit that it is a bit difficult understanding you question, but was it solved by pancakezez?

The way you describe it, make me think that it is a substandard sample..
