Moving initial loop-point cursor moves playback cursor

I've been interested in using LMMS to mix music live. Although there are a few items on my wish-list toward this end (some of which have been brought up in these forums already) there is one bug that completely prevents me from using LMMS to mix live. I'm hoping to find a workaround until a fix comes.
The problem:
While the loop is playing back, I'd like to advance to new loops. Although LMMS doesn't have a built-in loop buffer, I thought I could manage by just moving the loop-point cursors during playback. I can right-click the terminal loop-point cursor but when I use shift + right-click or middle-click to move the initial loop-point cursor, the playback bar skips around maybe 25-40% of the time. I'm making sure to only click once, and the playback cursor always remains between the two loop-point arrows so it shouldn't skip back to the beginning.
Is this a known bug? It would be pretty embarrassing to be mixing live and then have all the music skip and jump to a different bar.
NB: I was using the stable Windows version (1.1.3) and now I am using the beta Windows version (1.1.9); the problem exists in both versions. (I'm pretty impressed with the upgrades in 1.1.9 though!)
Thanks for any help you might be willing to offer. Ideally I'm hoping someone can walk me through a hack-fix, but I'm not really sure why the playback cursor is skipping in the first place so maybe I'm asking for the moon...
