Looking for a better LFO control.

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
Long story short, I'm sick of ZynAdd's built in LFO and the other LFO controls I've used, as I can never synchronize them precisely with the tempo I'm using (referring to subdivisions within that time signature), and messing with the individual volume knobs for each instrument causes inconsistencies in the volume change (it'll sound like I'm just stepping them up 10% or so at a time as opposed to a smooth curve) or will cause annoying popping noises.

Any tips that might help? Either that or can someone point me in the direction of an LFO I can synchronize with the time signature?
mmm a method to synchronize zasfx dials
I think i know what i would do, but now to explain it
You need audacity and direct recording
* Set up a fixed beat with a kick that has a nice 'funnel-shaped' wave-pattern.
The reason we want this, is that we want visual control-points and the tags in the funnel, will give us that -eg we can count tags!
Then we need a reference
Use the shortest sharpest click possible and set that up in lmms with the time-signature you want to build in zasfx. You can use arpeggio or one of the other precise Synchronize-to features.
So now you have two reference point, that you can see in audacity.
Now you need your zasfx-LFO sound.
When that is added, you then need to finely adjust the LFO-dial, until you have perfect fit with the known perfect fitted signals. When you got that, you have found the correct value for the LFO at that BPM. Make a documment aqnd write it down for later reference :p
I think it should work..
I kind of do it here, but without the zasfx angle:
