LMMS doesn't want to enable MIDI

I'd like to get my Casio MIDI keyboard working with LMMS in Fedora Linux 17. But I have the same problem as some users here: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1377518

Namely, when I try to change the MIDI interface in Settings -> MIDI settings from "Dummy (no MIDI support)" to "ALSA Raw-MIDI", LMMS doesn't change it. It always stays on dummy. That means when I click the tools icon for a track and select an input (or output), instead of finding my MIDI device, I'm can only put a check by input (or output). No MIDI data is sent.

I've had MIDI working in LMMS before. But for some reason, it's not working now.

How much easier my life will be if I can just get this working. Thanks for your help!

Strangely, LMMS also won't let me change my audio interface from ALSA. But that's not nearly as important for me as getting MIDI to work.

Okay, MIDI input finally is working when I change it to ALSA sequencer and restart LMMS with the Midi-to-USB interface plugged in. Yes!!
