Editing Sample Tempo Without Editing Song Tempo

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
Hello! I'm wondering if it's possible to edit the tempo/speed of a sample, without editing the tempo of the entire project. I tried looking in plug-ins, but I didn't find anything that helped, and I'm not quite comfortable using AudioFileProcesser (Unless you know how the make the samples automatically fit to the correct time in Piano-Roll) If it's not possible in LMMS, let me know.

We get this question quite a bit, from many other newbies as well. :)
Your best bet, is to use a nice audio editing software called Audacity.

In Audacity:

1) Bring in your sample into Audacity.

2) Go to the Effects Section and select Change Tempo.

3) Input the tempo you want.

That'll help change your samples Tempo. :)
Then bring your sample, back into your Lmms project and enjoy. :D

Also, welcome to the Lmms forums JordanProductions. :)

I was thinking of doing that, one question, will it mess up the sample in any way? Thanks.

The original sample, would not be messed up, if you make a copy of it. :D
But as a precaution, make a copy of the sample, as a back up copy, in case the worst happens. :P
Believe it or not Audacity normally automatically does that for you. But still, make a backup copy just in case. :geek:

If you mean, if the Tempo Change effect, would corrupt the sound, or not do the Tempo operation properly....
Due to some algorithm weakness in the program, it can sometimes, remove some parts at the end of the sample. :P
So my suggestion, is to do some Tempo testing. And hopefully it works well for you.

Here is a link to the Change Tempo Effect, in the Audacity online manual, in case you need more info. :D

You might also want to check out the Change Pitch Effect, if you plan on changing the pitch(s) of Audio files too.
