Hello. Mayo Staccato here. I've started an unrecord label. I want release gobs of free stuff for all y'alls, by artists, for artists. Care to join? I am looking for content creators at the moment, so if you've got some presets, or samples you want to share, that you've made yourself, please hit me up.
I"m hoping to upload a sample pack soon, and I hope you all will like it.

I'd appreciate your comments and feedback (and reposts too, I'm at the small beans level ATM)
Peace
Cool site. 8-)
I like the front home page pic, with the pine wood chair and two yellow stuff toys. :D
The idea of what you're trying to do is interesting. You might be on to something.

I can't believe I almost forgot about Wix.
I remember planning on making a site on Wix, a few years ago, for my music and game work. :)
Oh well, I might probably do that sometime later on.

This part made me laugh. Lol!

And....
We don't need no stinking copyright.

I saw a joke in it and it made me laugh too.
I'd be happy to put a couple samples in, native plugins only? or can we have external vsts as well?
Nice website by the way! The entire thing made me laugh XD

Thanks! I hope it is something. And yeah. We don't need no stinking copyright

I'm looking for samples made from scratch. As in from pure synthesis. 'Cause copyright reasons and also, this is artist content. By artists for artists, so if it's not yours in the first place...
Also, if you have project files or presets I'd want to host those too.
Maybe brandy (who is a boy) will share some synth1 one presets.. not that I'm passive aggressive or anything

Explain what you mean by "unrecord" label. I won't deny you have me interested.

Well, there are a couple of reasons. Firstly, I'm not planning on promoting single tracks, rather, I hope to host whole EP's or mixtapes/albums and such. Secondly, the content released through HA isn't necessarily to promote the artist, but rather to give to/inspire the artists listening. I dunno... maybe just because the concept as a whole is a bit left of center of the typical label paradigm.
No no no, I would make them myself, but I just need to know what vsts I am and am not allowed to use.

If I can't use any vsts, how do I make sounds? Maybe I don't understand your reply.

That might be a good idea. I remember Slipstick even suggesting that I make one available.
I will admit, I am currently working on a Synth 1 and other Lmms plugins preset banks.
But I still have a alot more sounds to create, in order to make it complete and worthwhile. So that might take a while.

PS: Oh, in case anyone didn't know, I put up a ton of synth sound making tut's, in the Tutorial's Section.
And more will be coming soon. So enjoy to your hearts content. :)

I think the idea is that you can use any synth and effects you like to produce samples, loops etc. from scratch. What you can't do is take an existing sample or loop, play with it a bit then call it your own work.

Personally I use very few samples and most of the ones I use are made by me, recording a sound (car revving, banging things, blowing kid's whistle etc) and then playing around with it. But I'm not sure they would be of much use to anyone else.

Similarly I have a few presets for various synths that I use a lot but most of those are just my "improvements" of ones that already exist so I wouldn't really want to claim those as all my own work (and not all are for synths that will work reliably in LMMS).

It's tricky isn't it ?

You could always save your tutorial examples as Synth1 presets and put them on this site. That would save people all that hard work of setting the switches and turning the knobs ;).

But I'm not sure it's a good idea. I think you were right when I originally suggested it, if you do that people won't learn nearly as much about what the controls do. Once you actually have to set a control it's really tempting to play about with it to see what effect it has. If you're just given a preset sound it's too easy to just use it and never think how it was made.
