keep sound after key is released

Hi, I am a new user of lmms and I got a midi controller keyboard Impulse49. I realized that when simulating any instrument when the key is released the sound stops. The same happens with the computer keyboard.
How can I adjust the time that a note is playing after I release the key?
Thanks

What instrument are you using to make the sound ? It makes a difference.
Most synthesisers like Triple Oscillator use an envelope (see the ENV/LFO page). If you increase the R (release) value then the note will take longer to die away. ZynAddSubFX has something similar but internal in the advanced controls. Most VSTi synths like Synth1 also have envelope controls typically called ADSR envelopes. Again the R is release time.
About the only practical other way is to add a Reverb or Delay as an effect. Something like C*Plate2x2 is one to try but any reverb or delay will have a very noticeable "playing in a huge cathedral" effect unless used very carefully.
