Hi,
I have experienced a bug that bars me from using LMMS at all - I can't save.
I don't know what the problem is - I am using no extras with it, and I think my computer can deal with it (i7 processor, 8GB RAM), and even when saving an empty project, it still hangs.
Can someone shed some light on this?

Your computer has good specs.

First off, we need a bit of info, on what OS and Lmms version you are using.
Are you using Lmms 1.1.3?
What OS (operating system) are you using? If you're using Windows, please post if it's Home Premium, Pro etc.
All that info helps us pinpoint, what the problem is.

It's a Windows 10 (anniversary update, probably home edition), using the LMMS 1.1.3.

That could be because you installed as administrator, but now try to save projects as a different account.
Does that sound right?

You should look at the folder you are trying to save in, and see if you have writing-rights
Best is to set yourself to have all rights.

I all that is just fine, my guess is that it is the settings that acts up -thats seen before in win10...

But.. just to get the grid as it is right now:
Can you
* Open a project f.i. one of the demo-projects
* can you play that project
* can you the project (move blocks, add notes delete notes
* does lmms replay the project with the changes

1. No - I'm using the same account as I used to install it on.
2. I'm pretty sure I have all the rights.
3. I can't open a project full stop! When saving and opening, not even the file explorer window pops up before it hangs.
Is that any help?

So you're saying that now you can't even open a project ? Just to be clear LMMS opens o.k. ? Then you select the "My Projects" menu (from the left of screen), choose one of the projects in there, say "Demos/DnB.mmpz, double click but nothing happens ? It just sits there not loading anything ?

That's a bit different from just having problems saving. In Edit/Settings/Paths do you have a valid folder named in the LMMS Working Directory field ?

very different from not letting lmms save indeed as Steve also point out
Please post a screenshot of the state where lmms stop responding.
I like to see what actually is loaded

I think you have the win10 issue too, a problem that we so far have not solved, but i have a hunch, i just dont understand what it is with win 10
