Hi!

I'm working with lmms 1.1.3 on Linux (Ubuntu).
So, when I try to record something in the piano roll (with the record-button), it happens that some notes appear at the wrong time.
But: When playing a tune (and also while recording) everything sounds just right!
Just what comes out after recording is an complete mess: When I just play b-a-b-a-b-a for example, the "a" is in time, while the "b" appears just somewhere in the piano roll, seconds later.

What I also noticed:
When I play notes that are very close to each other, like b and a, it's worse than e.g. with f and c.
The error does not occur right after I startup, but after about 3 minutes of using the piano roll.
I tried both JACK and ALSA and some other settings, but the problem remains.

Taking a wild guess, How much ram does you're pc have, and what is the cpu ?

And when you say recording, do you mean from a midi keyboard?

yes Gps could be right about that ram thing, but it is also important that you have:
Good latency settings in BUFFER:

And also use highest Q-setting in piano-roll, else the played notes will snap to set Q, and not as you play them

1. I use the standard computer keyboard, no special midi-keyboard
2. My Computer has 4GB RAM and sorry, I'm not sure what you mean be "what CPU".
3. I tried all the setting you recommended, but the issue hasn't disappeared.

I think what Gps is asking, is what is the brand and specs of the CPU.

Example:
AMD Zen processor quad core running at 2.6 Ghz
Intel i7 processor quad core running at 2.6 Ghz

So here's what I found:
AMD A8-5500 APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics
Socket: FM2
Clockspeed: 3.2 GHz
Turbo Speed: 3.7 GHz
No. of Cores: 4 (in 2 physical modules)

You have more than enough hw power to run lmms totally smooth, so the reason is not lmms.

If you normally only 'sleep' your pc, a lot of ram-hags, will ruin your usage
Shut down your pc completely!
Wait 30 seckd. and then reboot

As I said, I run Linux (Ubuntu with Cinnamon Desktop), so background processes like skype or msn shouldn't be an issue for me. What I tried was to close others applications (firefox, gmusicbrowser, etc.) and I think it took longer for the problem to appear again, but this is just my impression (I haven't checked the clock on each attempt).

Is there an specific thing/application I should be aware of/shut down as an Ubuntu user?

but it did appear?
Do you have other perihelia connected? I have heard of faulty cables creating general issues, not related to lmms.
I do not know what causes your issue, if it is a setup in linux, or similar.

'Best' thing to do i guess, would be to use lmms untill the problem appears, and the do a restart..
