Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
The Lmms wiki says I need wine, when I want to use vst ( windows) plugins.
I just installed LMMS on opensuse 12.2

I also watvhed this vid, and dowloaded a few vst.

I am lost though.

I can get wine easily installed, but it that really all I have to do ?

I would expect, I need to make some folder structure ?
but were ?
There's an instrument in LMMS called "VeSTige". With it you can browse for a vst dll and load it, and then use it.

Thank you.

But were do I put the plugins ?
in wine ?
or in home lmms plugins ? ( they are dll files )
That is were I get confused.

The how too video is done on windows, but that is the part I do get.
Not that I understand it, but it seems installing wine is enough.

I just started lmms and inserted juno6, into vestige, and when i hit a key it makes a sound.
( the dll was on a windows partion, pc is dual boot )

drag a VST container in the song-editor
then just click the 'folder-icon' on that container
It opens a simple 'explorer'-dialog , where you can choose a VST-dll to load
You should find this here too:
