How to make these spacey type sounds/melodies?

I'm trying to make this Space sound. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n6b3OYRKQ9Q just at 2:10 to 2:15, is all you have to listen too.
I don't know what you call this type of "Spacey sound effect melody thingy" though.
I think zynaddsubfx has these types of spacey effects. But I'm trying to make them from scratch.
Or other way around.
If there's an easier way, I'm glad to hear it from you guy's.
It's keeping back my "Secret Green Trance track" from being started.
