Tempo being automatically reset to 140

I've been having this happen quite often... when I stop a song and it returns to the beginning on the song editor, the tempo resets itself to 140. With some projects it happens, with some it doesn't... I haven't imported any midi files into any of my projects, only wav files, I still haven't been able to work out what it is that I'm doing that triggers it to reset. I'm a new user of lmms ( and loving it so far ), so sorry if this is a noob question! :)

If you havent imported midi, the best candidate would be an accidential change in the 'song global Automation'
Rightclick the TEMPO/BMP, chose 'song global Automation' and check for that.

Wow! :o I'm having this problem as well. I'm trying to test out my song, at a Tempo of 135 Bpm, and it just keeps resetting to 140.
In my case, "I'm only using Lmms Plugins." No Wav files or imported samples etc.
This doesn't happen in all of my projects.
Weird huh? I wonder if this is a "glitch?" :geek:

Sounds like it's definitely the same problem... Next time it happens I'll check the global automation and see if anything is up there. The workaround that I've found when it happens is to select all your tracks in song editor, and move them forward one bar, and then move the arrow indicating playback position one bar forward as well. Sometimes it 'sticks' there and remembers that as the new start of the song, sometimes not, if that makes sense. The problem seems to only happen when I try to play back a song from within the first bar.

Wow! I just discovered this same workaround, the day before yesterday. And was now about to post it here. It seems you beat me to it. He! He! :D

sugests another 'work-around':
create a midifile with a single note in any midi-editor (anvil) at the correct bmp
Import that midi
fixed

merry xmas

Noticed the same problem, none of the "workarounds" listed solved the problem. All I did was make an 8 track drum loop inside of beat and bassline, then when I backed out to the song editor, every time I hit play the tempo went right back to 140. I started it on the second measure like everyone said but that didn't solve the problem. It just avoided it's trigger. You're right though, the trigger is in the first measure. If you just start the song on measure 2 then you'll skip that trigger. But I didn't know if it would reappear when I exported the mix so I didn't craft anymore of the song. Instead I wrote down the beat sequence, deleted the old mix file and started over. I didn't change a thing, just redid all my work. And the second time the problem was gone. I kept opening and closing the file to see if it would retrigger the problem. It didn't, until I opened my most complicated mix, and then opened the problem song again immediately after. Then it resets back to 140bmp every time I start from the beginning. Mysterious... Not sure if it makes a difference but I was using drum samples from Music Radar. They are .wav's.

I have experienced this on the second "block" also. Sometimes when that happens, move the starting of the song, to the "5th block in the Song Editor." Then, enclose it with the "green bracket thingy's," making sure the "green bracket thingy's are turned on or lighted." If not, turn it on. :)

Then your song will always keep the "tempo," you've assigned.

I think the resetting Tempo could be a glitch in Lmms.

Or you can set the Tempo to an Automation editor. :)

ran into this problem also. It was perplexing at first, then I dropped the tempo I wanted into an automated track at the beginning of the song. It never happened again.
