Help with arpeggiators vst's: BlueArp & Kirnu

Hello everyone!

I discovered Lmms a few days ago and I must say I'm really impressed with it considering it's free.
Everything was ok until I felt the need of using some arpeggiators in Vst format(the lmms default is ok but it's better if you have some visual representation and control).
I've downloaded BlueArp(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CB8aCeFsilM), and Kirnu(http://www.artovaarala.com/kirnu1/index.html) both awesome and free. Since they are Vst's that don't emit sound, they need to be connected to another midi sequence in some way.

I've tried all the possibilities i could think of without any luck. Can anyone help me whit this? Is it even possible with Lmms?

Thanks in advance ;)

VST-effects has to be inserted on the instrument FX-tab. You must install the VST-dll in that folder you have as pointed out as your VST-folder in the LMMS installation -But if you run windows, there is many issues with vst-effects, and lmms, it depends on whitch type of vst build the effect has, wheter lmms-windows-version will be able to use it. Dont be too thrilled if you get it to 'work'. The real problem is with reopening an existing saved project, where the GUI unfortunately do not reopen with lmms. So you need to
*get it to work
*close all windows
*save project
*reopen project
*reopen all GUIs
*get it to work
That said, most instrument VSTs works really well with lmms, and most vst-instruments has own arpegiators. I would recomend Synth1, witch is brilliant

Hi musicbear, thanks for the reply.

I know Synth1, i've been using it for some time with other music software, before I started using Lmms. But like I said, the visual control and tweak of these arpeggiators is really an advantage, not to mention you can use them with any instrument.

Adding them to the instrument Fx was the fist thing I tried, unfortunatly, it removes the sound from the instrument. I've tried other vst fx, like ambiance, and they work perfectly.

Can anyone please try these vst's?

Thanks ;)

Hello, I have found an incredible solution, YUUUUP. I also had the problem I could not use Kirnucream, by the way my favorite arpeggiator. I tried it as a vst and also as effect, but nothing seemed to work. BUT I FOUND THE SOLUTION... And that will beeeee.... The MINIHOST MODULAR from imagelines(fruityloops), its free and awesome. I hope I bridged the lmms gap for you also... because lmms is awesome.... Thanks to ya all...
greetings and have fun

Frenk

Are you using a fruity loops host in lmms, of just using fruity loops ?
