I put a drum loop into the sample track and cropped it. When I play the track, the cropped portion continues to play. What am I doing wrong?

I'm using a Sample Track.

The sample is normally about twice that length. I slid it down to about half size so I could loop it. When I play the song, it continues to play the sample, even after the green portion is finished.

Yes Sample Track is pretty simplistic like that. Once a sample starts it plays to the end. Which mean that the visible length of the green block in Song Editor doesn't really mean much.

If you want to change start or end points or arrange loop points on samples then Audio File Processor is the one to use. Or perhaps edit the sample in Audacity to the correct length THEN import it to LMMS.

loop it is the key-word here, because then sample-track has a nifty functionality, that make it work as a looper
