when i uninstall lmms, will it delete my project files? (they're in my user>lmms>projects directory) i mean, does it delete the lmms folder from the user directory?
(i just need to uninstall because i installed the 32 bit version back when i was young and silly and didn't know i was running a 64 bit system)

No, it won't delete your projects and the folder will remain there.

If you want to be safe, back it up somewhere safe, then uninstall.

You do not say whitch OS you have installed, and that could be an issue, even though lmms has behaved neatly through all updates, i would make a backup
The same goes for instruments and VSTs
Back it all up :p
But describe your exspirience with this complete removeal here, it could be interesting to know the exact behavior -and remember to let us know your OS, and if you use the lmms-Un-install, which i would recommend, or the OS program-remove-utillity.

I agree. It is highly recommended that you should backup your files somewhere, either to cloud, or to your removable device.

There is no guarantee that your files will not be lost during the uninstall. But since I've frequently uninstall and reinstall it on my Ubuntu, I know that even the configuration files is still there even though you have uninstalled it.

BTW I'm running windows 7 64 bit (I'm not sure which SP, if 7 has Service Packs anyways)

Windows 7 has 1 SP.

I remembered it correctly because it was mainly the reason why I switched over to Ubuntu... Because it took me literally a day trying to update it to SP 1 from the fresh install of Windows 7.
