Effects plugins not loading.

I have a 64-bit system. When I try to put the .dll files in my VST directory, it says "Failed loading VST plugin. The VST plugin <name.dll> can't be loaded for some reason."
I tried to change my VST plugins directory and installing both 32- and 64-bit VSTs. None worked.
Please help.

What Vst effects, were you trying to install?

lucky you.. But what system :p? /OS?
Is it on 1.1.3?
and as brandy said -what effcet -
vstEffects are really a week spot in lmms

What Vst effects, were you trying to install?

I was trying to install Kickstart, Synth1 (nevermind, it fixed itself... even though it's not an effect plugin), Gross Beat and I tried to install Fruity Parametric EQ2 (it was pretty good, don't blame me).

I have a 64-bit system.

Well, i only know Synth1, and that, if i understand you correctly, works fine.
For effects on windows, i think its all explained pretty good here:

If you already have done like described, then i fear the effects in question, wont work in lmms :/
VST instruments works really good in lmms, the opposite is unfortunately the case for effects
