Click and drag copy paste

In many softwares, there is some hotkey click and drag macro to quickly create a bunch of notes. For example, if one wanted to put 8 1/8th notes, ctrl+click on the note (let's say C) and drag to the right. As of now, it is extremely tedious to manually click the row 8 times to get the same note repeated and the copy paste system is nonexistent.

In the piano roll, it's actually pretty easy to copy and paste groups of notes. Just hit Shift + s to switch to select mode, draw a box around the notes to select them, then hit Ctrl + c and Ctrl + v to copy and paste. The notes will paste at the beginning of the track region, but you can just press Shift + d to go to draw mode and drag the new group of notes to any position in the track.
Also, in the song editor, you can Ctrl + click and drag to quickly copy and paste midi data into different tracks.
