Question about compiling the latest version

I am wanting to compile the latest version of LMMS available on Github.

What I am wondering is if there is any known issues with opening projects made on the old version of LMMS. I am worrying that VSTs might not load properly with their patches setup as I saved them on the old LMMS, because if it doesn't load properly I would have to save all the patches as presets to be able to work on projects started on old LMMS

No. backward compatibility is a hallmark for lmms.
There will most likely be some audiable differences this next release.
3oc has been reliefed from a bug, and is more musty and powerful. That can make some old project sound different

Do you know how far off it is? Would you recommend that I compile 1.2.0 in the mean time, or wait till 3 ? Sorry if i misunderstand, the "3oc" is what I am confused by

'3' will not be this release.
Currently you can find code for 'master' that you can compile on your own.
This file is for development and testing. There are a lot of minor bugs, and a few of criticals.
No! I will not recommend you to build your own executable from come, AND use that for music production, because it is not meant for that
Nor is the RCs! There are bugs!
1.1.3 is off. released lmms that is safe for production.

If you or anyone else want to aid with bug searching, then the RCs and the current Master is the one to use, but then serious depth knowledge of lmms' functions is needed.
At least, that imo
