I re-downloaded it for a test, and it has errors of some kind. Could it be that samples are included in the project? also, what is the BAK file?

Something wrong isn't good enough description to answer this. Please explain what you're trying to do and what you get instead.

A file ending with .bak is a backup file. If I remember this correctly for 1.1.3, which I assume you're working with, LMMS renames a file you're about to write over with a new version with the old name +.bak as a precaution if something goes wrong with the save or whatnot... To get a working project from this you just remove the .bak from the file name. If you uploaded a .mmpz.bak somewhere then you simply need to upload the .mmpz instead.

DL-ed the file again, saved instead of clicking "open", opened it from the Downloads folder, it seems to be working now.
