How to make a decent "growl" with TripleOsc or ZASFX?

Anything that doesn't fit into other topics goes here!
Just wondering if you could offer any advice on how to make a good "growl" bass, like the ones you hear in decent electro songs (in case the distinction isn't clear, a decent electro song is one that I didn't make)

Thank you in advance

I saw that before I registered, and I tried downloading the presets but the zip was empty

That's strange. I just downloaded the zip file, located under his tut and inside of it, were five xpf files.
It's possible, that something probably went wrong, with the data transfer, when you tried to download it. :geek:
Try again and see what happens.

Note: Sometimes, antivirus software, have a tendency to delete files, inside zip files/rar, when they
detect anything being downloaded onto a PC etc. It happened to me a couple of times too. :P
If, this is the case, temporarily disabling the antivirus guard function, might help solve that problem.
You can always put it back on afterwards. :)

I don't think that's the problem. If I have an antivirus then I don't know it (I use Linux)

Also figuring out how to make decent electro percussion would be nice too

here's a good one
You can try out this tutorial made by a LMMS user. He gives you the basics on how a ZASFX growl works (by the way, if you don't know the basics on ZASFX you should watch this first (http://youtu.be/M_oLSb5DIpM), then tackle the Growl tutorial :))

Here it is -> http://youtu.be/KYdWWk4Uir4

Try messing around with ZynAddSubFX. I built a decent growl a while back using a pulse wave with PM modulation. The waveshaping modulation on the pulse wave was about at 45-55 and the PM modulation used a stretch-sine wave with the wave shaping modulation somewhere around -20 or so.

You might have to adjust some envelopes for the PM modulus (by adding some length to the attack) and also to a Low-Pass envelope.
In the tutorial where i look into the different types of filters in zasfx, i also talk a little about growls, but perhaps that is more the dubstep kind, but you can take a look. formants-filters here:
