Good day everyone! This is my first time that I'm using the forums. I've used LMMS for over a year but technically I've only started really exploring it or even bothering to study music theory. Considered even using free VSTs to easily make synths compared to the built-in ones. I ended up deciding to test a few ones that sound good which I found.
So through the 64 bit version of LMMS 1.2.0-RC1 (1.1.90) Beta I tested a couple of freely available VSTs on Windows 7, partially as additions to the list of Working VSTs in the wiki.
I'll try to update this post with video proof that the VSTs crash, but for now here are my basic issues with a few that I've already tried so far. I'm also considering posting this as an issue on Github once I get to upload the vids.
AM Freehand Free 1.0
- Takes long to load (10+ seconds), but has never crashed while loading.
- Once the VST-dials-array is opened, DO NOT close its window, as it crashes LMMS. Also, clicking on VST Sync reverts the waveforms on the oscillators to its initial settings.
Helm 0.8.6
- Crashes LMMS as soon as another built-in preset was loaded for usage (either through Browse on the Helm GUI or on the Previous/Next buttons of Vestige); or if the window of the VST-dials-array was closed.
- Although modified synth settings are preserved when saving to a project or FXP file, the Helm GUI does not reflect the changes, where it shows the original settings for the initial preset.
- Crashes LMMS as soon as another built-in preset was loaded for usage (either through Browse on the Dexed GUI or on the Previous/Next buttons of Vestige); clicking on INIT; or if the window of the VST-dials-array was closed.
- Modified synth settings are preserved when saving to a project or FXP file; however the SUPER-7 GUI does not immediately reflect these changes, as it shows the original settings for the initial BIGBASS preset. You can access your modified settings by going back to the original preset you used though.
