Please help with DSK instrument plugins

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
I am going absolutely nuts trying to figure out just how to create some music that sounds like a piano or a guitar.

AKA I'm totally new to LMMS and anything I do know about it, I just learned over the past few hours on YouTube.

I figured out that to do that I need to add some instrument plugins so I found some DSK plugins from dskmusic.com but for some reason they don't work. When I try adding the plugins through VeSTige, I just get a pop-up that says "Failed loading VST plugin" and [the file name] "could not be loaded for some reason. If it runs with other VST-software under Linux, please contact a LMMS-developer!"

I'm using a Windows computer and I've tried looking at similar questions on the LMMS forums but none of the solutions worked for me. I tried downloading both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of the program but neither of them load my plugins.

I also tried to use the plugins through the TripleOscillator effects, but it doesn't show up there (although it does under VeSTige).

If anyone can either help me fix this problem or help me find something that will work just so I can get a piano or guitar sound, I would really really appreciate it! I really don't want to have to try to learn a different program to see if that works.

I'm using a Windows computer
Then VST support is native
When I try adding the plugins through VeSTige, I just get a pop-up that says "Failed loading VST plugin" and [the file name] "could not be loaded for some reason.
Meaning LMMS cant find it
I also tried to use the plugins through the TripleOscillator effects
No no- that is not for instruments, but for effects.
All VSTs instrument usage goes through the VST container

First i would like you to read this:

I think you used the wrong container

Let us know how it went

Perhaps my LMMS rookie-guide can interest you? Link in signature.
Thank you muskibear for the reply!

So I first tried out the link you showed me for Working with VSTs and downloaded Synth1 like the article says to but it still gave me the same error message and I'm not really sure what went wrong. I installed it and made sure the .dll file was in the folder in the settings but I'm probably still doing something wrong.

All that being said! I did watch your rookie guide video and from that I was able to figure out how to use the presets to play instruments, and I think that's good enough for me. So thank you for that!

Nee.. that would be a shame. You may not need VST, but you can definitively get a lot of benefits with them. In fact Synth1 is reason enough.

I would like you to download the simplest of the VSTs i know off : MDApiano.

-Also, its a nice piano
That is only depending on its own tiny dll, and as long as you browse to the folder in your installation, it is sure to load -unless there is something wrong with windows -That could be rights -Are you the admin on your pc?
And as Brandy said which windows ?
