Documentation - up to date user manual?

There's the documentation home page, the wiki which seems to duplicate the same material, an old PDF download - it's quite confusing.

1. Which one is the current, up to date user manual?
2. Does the wiki duplicate the web site docs or does it just look like that at first glance? If they're different, which is 'better'?
3. Is the 0.4.12 PDF download the same content as the web site / wiki (but older) or is it something else again?
4. Can the current manual not be converted to PDF to dowload / read offline?

Thanks.

Looking a bit more (based on http://lmms.io/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=4740), it looks like the wiki is the up to date manual, and the wiki and the web site documentation are the same content, so that answers my Qs 1 & 2.

That leaves the PDF which is obviously out of date. It looks like a version of the whole wiki as of 2011. Can't the same conversion be done again? It seems odd to do it once and leave it for 6 years, and it makes LMMS look stale which I'm sure is not the case.

That is correct. The wiki can be regarded as the most comprehensive LMMS documentation/ User-guide

Yes that is true. But its still the best off-line document, so thats why its left.

Besides that, since you are new here

Hi musikbear. Thanks for the quick reply. Do you have an answer about doing a new conversion of the Wiki to PDF? Maybe it's a time-consuming manual process and that's why it was only done once, but if it's possible to automate it would be really useful.

I've started watching your yt videos as well - very useful, thanks :)

There will properly be a completely new documentation 'shortly'
The current wiki is in some article outdated, and imagery is wrong, so a new one is needed. Personally im for a .HLP-file shipped with LMMS.

That sounds great. Most s/w these days seems to have html or pdf docs, but as long as it's searchable. If I get into LMMS properly and improve my knowledge (low at the moment), I'd be happy to lend a hand with documentation.
