LMMS on older Mac

Would it be possible to recompile a version of LMMS to work with an older iMac?
(specifically, a G3 iMac from 2001; 600mhz, 1gb ram, ppc CPU)

I have the machine dual booting OSX 10.411 and Mac OS 9.

I have LMMS on my Windows 7 machine, but due to my office arrangement I can't connect my midi keyboard to it. I recently pulled the iMac from the closet and got it running again, planning to use it for word processing and playing vintage games (I love its keyboard, crisp screen and default fonts).
But, it occurred to me that I could connect it to my keyboard via USB, and I could actually get more functionality from it.

No, simply because the computer has only 1 gigabyte of RAM. I used to have a laptop with 2 gigabytes and LMMS was crummy on it. Large projects would lag terribly and use a ton of CPU, and using ZynAddSubFX's GUI was the worst. I can't even imagine how bad LMMS would be with only 1 gigabyte of RAM.

Unless someone replies and says they've been able to do it, I don't see how it's possible. Sorry.

And you're right on alot of things.

But believe it or not, I'm currently using Lmms 1.1.3 on an old Dell PC running Win XP.
And it works great. The only problem, is that I can't make long music tracks, use certain vst's
I can't use zynAddSubFX and I can't use too many automations.

Win XP operating system
Dual core 1.8 Ghz CPU
512 mb RAM

I must admit, whatever those Lmms programmers did to Lmms, was pure genius.
To make a music software like Lmms, be able to run, on an old school underpowered PC
takes alot of skillz.
