Hello,

I am new with LMMS and I have 2 questions.

1) Would someone please tell me if music can be input into LMMS via a standard musical notation scheme instead of the default piano roll?

2) Is it possible to do glissando/note bending with the LMMS software? If so, how would it be done?

Is is possible import some score notation in Lmms or better is there any score notation compatible with ?
I have found one score notation Noteflight very nice, but every time I try to import the file I have saved as midi Lmms doesn't read this file.

LMMS can import midi-notes:
File | Import
but LMMS cant handle any type of sheet-music

Okay, I'll try and make the first question by novice_producer more specific:
I want to move to LMMS from Cakewalk Pro Audio (for legal reasons, and also because, from what I have read, it appears to offer more opportunities to a composer). In CWPA, you can create your music using a score window, putting the notes on the score by clicking. You can open a separate score window for one instrument or for a group of instruments (their scores appear one under another, like in the director's sheets) so you can edit their notes in one place. But I haven't been able, so far, to see this opportunity in the manual. Does it exist in LMMS, or are you planning to add it? Without it, many ppl who are used to create music using score and conventional notation will hesitate to use LMMS (which seems greate in any other respect). Thank you!

No, LMMS, like quite a few other modern DAWs, does not include any form of conventional music notation editing. And IMO it's not really suitable for the sort of orchestral/film work that would normally need it.

You can do your scores in something like Anvil Studio or MuseScore or, if you have plenty of money, Sibelius or Finale and then import MIDI (but not MusicXML) into LMMS. But if you're trying to do orchestral type work you'll probably soon run into other problems getting any realistic sounding instruments to work. For this sort of work you may be better off with a different DAW.
