Sounds are fuzzy.

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
I have installed LLMS. All the sounds are static sounding. How do I fix this?
I'm using Ubuntu Mate. 3GB RAM

When I start the application, the notes sound ok but as I add notes the notes become fuzzy/static sounding.
What can be done?

Erm... 3 megabytes of RAM? Are you sure you don't mean 3 gigabytes? Because if you actually do have 3 megabytes that's the reason your LMMS is acting laggy. Use LMMS on a different device and I guarantee it'll go away. :)

For more please post your:
* OS (+service-pack-version)
* lmms version
* hardware specification (ram & soundcard is the most important)
* lmms sound device chosen
* perhaps a sound-file on soundcloud or a similar service
Best is to open the Demo-project //projects\cool_songs/Skiessi-Onion.mmpz and export that, then upload the file

Which LMMS instrument are you using to make the "fuzzy" sounds ? If it is Triple Oscillator then with it's default setup it often sounds bad playing chords. Usually you just need to turn the volume down because it is clipping badly (the meter in the mixer is in the red all the time). Try that or try a different instrument.

All of them sound fuzzy. You can tell that the sound goes up the scale but it sounds horrible.
I turn the volume down still horrible just softer horrible sound.
I just uninstalled and reinstalled and get the same result horrible noise.
Yo! I just happened to find this post on Google, and noticed it was made very recently. I am also having the same issue as the OP (thread creator). Something is horribly wrong, LMMS is only making gross fuzzy sounds that are murder to my ears :P - I wonder if this has something to do with the latest version? Using 1.1.3 64bit, but most likely it's just due to user error. First of all, after initially setting up LMMS, the settings wouldn't save after restarting the program. It took a while for the program to remember settings I had changed. I followed a tutorial video on youtube on how to set it up (here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4dYxV3tqTUc&t=332s) but also tried many different buffer sizes, including the default. Something was really wrong with the audio.

using windows 7 64 bit.
8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600
don't have a sound card except for on board audio, so that could be the problem. I use a DAC instead.

It's probably something simple, I just don't know what I am doing when it comes to audio software.

Yop, i am next to sure that it is your backend you need to set:

Set to SDL, Ok and restart LMMS, then i think you are good to go :)
Let us know if it worked.

-I however do not like the not able to save settings thing..
But hope it wont matter - If it does -Are you using admin lockin on the pc?
