Plugins etc only producing white noise

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
Hi all.

I'm just starting out with LMMS and have run into an issue: several of the instrument plugins, presets and samples work fine for a minute or two, but then simply produce white noise - taking many of the others with them. Well, not proper white noise - it varies from plugin to plugin etc, but white-ish noise...

Restarting LMMS sorts the issue, until it strikes again, usually pretty soon.

LMMS 1.0.0 (Linux/x86_64, Qt 4.8.6, GCC 4.8.2)

Linux Lite 2.6

Kernel - Linux 3.13.0-62-generic (x86_64)

Audio Adapter: Intel Corporation 7 Series/C210 Series Chipset Family High Definition Audio Controller (rev 04)

RAM: 3932MB

Audio Settings: ALSA, default device, 2 channels.

Can anyone advise? Thanks.

Adrian
Update lmms to 1.1.3 might solve the problem.

I had hoped that your problem was with a windows install, but linux is not my department.. However i am not sure that a lite version is sufficient. But that really just a guess. Gps is absolutely correct. You should download lates official version : 1.1.3

Let us know how it went :)
I just picked up the version in the repository - didn't know there was a more recent version available. I'll update and let you know the results.

Thanks, guys. Your help is much appreciated!
OK. Before I get into compiling from source - new territory for me - is there anywhere I can pick up a .deb package for 1.1.3?
Have you seen this page ?

https://lmms.io/download/#linux
Yeah - but that just picks up the version in the respository, which is 1.0.0 - that's where I got it originally.
Oops, that's weird though.

Does this help ? Its for Ubuntu though.

I am on openSUSE so cant check it for you.( openSUSE uses rpm)

Make sure you get the full version with vestige support.
Ah-HAH! Thanks Gps - that's done it. 1.1.3 installed successfully.

...a-a-a-a-nd the problem still persists. :-(
I do recall seeing this problem before - is it possible I'm missing some dependency or something?
