Cannot hear "waveforms" or "shapes" sounds

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
Hi LMMS community,

I just installed LMMS today, and I am loving what it offers. I followed a few tutorials, and easy to get going.
However, while playing with all the "My Samples" sounds, I did notice something strange. I cannot hear (or actually, I hear the same noise whatever the key I push, a short saturated sizzling noise) any of the sounds under "waveforms" or "shapes".
Everything else (basses, beats, etc...) play perfectly without any sizzling or noticeable issues.

Anybody out there that would have some idea of what could be wrong?
It is just insane, every single sound under those two categories cannot be heard as it should, while every single sound under any of the other categories is perfect!

Thank you to anybody reading this, hopefully this is a very small thing!
Welcome to the community!

waveforms and shapes are meat to be used in those instruments that has a '?' -mark button
click the button and load the file, you then have an instrument that uses the waveform to generate a sound
You can also use that type of shapes like i show in this video

uhoh they are also used as envelope control-patterns. f.i. for gating
Just ask if you dont understand :)

Hey I found this thread trying to find out how to use waveforms. Do you have any waveform tutorials? :) I don't know which instruments have the ? to use them?

-A few rules and useful forum instructions
Do you have any waveform tutorials? :)
Not i know of, but the default is explained here :
https://lmms.io/wiki/index.php?title=Tr ... #Waveforms
I do rample a bit over waveforms in one of my vids, mostly i explain that all waveform are in fact 'special cases' of the sine-wave, and that every waveform can be made with sine-overtones..
I don't know which instruments have the ? to use them?
Most default LMMS UI, not based on VST, has the '?' wildcard.
Take look at Bitinwader
Image
Selected is sine
Sine is also the leftmost of the choices
Hover you mouse over each choice, and the tool-tip will show the name of the waveform
Second from right is the Wildcard '?' (or in some instances a '+'
Left-click it, and browse to a soundfile of your choice.

With the LFO, you simply find a sound-file in Samples in side-browser, and drag it into the LFO.
