Having issues installing LMMS

Hello eveyone!

Before saying anything, I would precise that I'm actually french, so my english may not be perfect, sorry about that.

So here is my problem :

I'm totally new to the world of music, and I wanted to try to start experimenting with a free software sequencer which needs no harware stuff.

So I found LMMS as a good solution. I'm trying to install it, but I'm having issues : my computer is under Windows 7 pro 64bits, so I tried to download the "win64" installer (.exe). While it was downloaded successfully, when I launch it, it only bring to me an error message saying that the version of this installer does not match with the version of my OS (win32 or win64). I checked again, but my computer does effectively run a 64bits version of windows (win64).
To be sure, I also tried to download the win32 installer, but it is apparently not able to download fully, so it is impossible for me to lauch it.
Do you have any solution to that problem?

LMMS under Windows 7 pro 64bits

Works strait out of the box, only thing is to get the right 'box' :)
First do a de-install, to get rid of any actual installed components, the dl:
https://github.com/LMMS/lmms/releases/d ... -win64.exe
and install as Admin. Grant all users all rights

Let us know the outcome :)

Obs! Do not get LMMS from other souses!
Our dl site is https://lmms.io/download/
And only there you should get packs!

Thank you for offering me an answer. As I've said, my english is not so good, so I hope I did understand well what you proposed me and did it correctly.

Here is what I did :

As you said, I tried to do a de-install (what, for me, is to uninstall a software using the windows uninstaller). But there were nothing to uninstall (what appears quite logical for me knowing the fact that I didn't succeed in runing the installer). So I deleted all the LMMS-related files/programs (which correspond to all the installer I downloaded, either for windows 32bit and windows 64bit). I did not realy understand what does your first link was about, but I thought it was a sort of "LMMS-Unistaller" so I downloaded it, and tried to run it, but it gave me the same error message that the one described in my firt post.
Then, I downloaded again LMMS installer from the official page (the second link you gave me), and tried to run it as an administrator. It didn't work, but the error message looks realy weird to me : it says windows doesn't find anythink at the asked path... While the .exe is relay there. And this error message appears even if I move the installer in a complete other folder before running it.
Finally, when I try to run the installer as a "normal user" (not "run as administrator", the same error message appears that the one described in my first post (saying that my windows version (32bit or 64bit) is not compatible with the file version).

I realy understand nothing to all this story, so I hope you will be able to help me.

I believe there is one misunderstanding, it could matter

first link I thought it was a sort of "LMMS-Unistaller"

No that was the direct link to the most resent x64 for windows :)

No, that is just all our downloads, i gave you that link to be bookmarked, and also to emphasize not to dl LMMS from other sites

That is strange..

windows version (32bit or 64bit) is not compatible with the file version

That would happen, if a x64 version was installed on a x32 system!

What i like you to try is:
First make sure nothing is installed. Look into the installed programs, and it there is a LMMS, then Un-install

Then you should download and install this Pack:
https://github.com/LMMS/lmms/releases/d ... -win32.exe

I want to see, if our x32 actually installs!

Hi again mustikbear,

Sorry to answer so late, but my problem is now gone!

The source of the problem was the fact that my internet connexion is in reality reeeeealy bad, so the downloading of the files did stop/was interrup every time before the end, and I had to "try again" several times before the file was "downloaded". But I think that the file was not fully downloaded, or damaged, while it said it was.

So I brought my computer to an other place, with an other wifi connexion (apparently better than mine ! ^^), downloaded the file, and installe LMMS... Without troubles!

Maybe my experience will help some other low-experimented newcomers.

I'm sorry I led you to lose some time about this so simple because I didn't think to inform you about my connexion problems.

I hope my message is wrote in an understandable english, and I want to thank you for your help and support! I'm now going to start using LMMS!
