LMMS keeps crashing when i try to delete anything 1.20

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
So, Ive recently migrated to LMMS and I find it really interesting to produce music with it, but i have an issue which is really annoying.

LMMS keeps force closing (crashing) whenever i try to use the delete option in the Song editor.. sometimes it crashes at first delete command, other times after 1, 2 or try delete.

Whether i try to delete something using scroll on my mouse or the right click delete command it keeps crashing. very, very annoying and disruptive when i work.

I run it on Windows 10 64-bit, on a asus rog laptop.

Help pls? Thank you

Hi, Welcome to the Forum mihuflorin !

-A few rules and useful forum instructions
I run it on Windows 10 64-bit, on a asus rog laptop.
IF 'it' is 1.2.0 from our DL-page it should work!
Eg:
https://github.com/LMMS/lmms/releases/d ... -win64.exe

LMMS crash whenever i try to use the delete option in Song editor.
There are several ways and several objects that can be Deleted in Song-editor
* A whole track
Image
Track-button with cog-wheel-button
  • click on the cog-wheel on the track-button, and select Remove-this-track
* All notes in the track
  • click on the cog-wheel on the track-button, and select Clear-this-track
* Parts (segments/ Blocks) in the project -Here you can either:
  • Click on a block with middle-mouse
  • Right Click on a block and select either Delete, Cut, Erase-notes
Can you tell me witch of these methods crashes your LMMS?
Hi, again

Any of the *Parts methods I try it crashes the program and closes. I've noticed that this is happening while the track is playing. If i delete while the track is stopped ..works just fine.

..ok
If i do that on my meager old pc, with just 2 gb ram, i get a 'hickup', as in studder-replay, but no crash. I can even undo the delete. A studer, but no crash.
I think it may be your HW that cant manage the I/O cmd simultaneous with play-back. LMMS 1.2.0 does not crash natively, when segments are deleted, so it is not a generic bug, but something local for your system, i am afraid.
Your 'solution' is to only edit in song-editor in idle mode. I vaguely remember a user with similar issue, but that was not in 1.2.0
I have a gaming asus rog laptop, so not a hardware problem
