Don't know which version to download

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
I'm pretty new to everything computer-wise. I've been trying to use music software and i don't know which version of LMMS runs on my Mac. I'm running OS El Capitan 10.11.6 on a late 2008 Macbook. All i know now is that the latest version of LMMS doesn't run on my computer. Any help is appreciated.
I think that would be the previous stable version which is quite old, lmms-1.1.3
https://github.com/LMMS/lmms/releases/tag/v1.1.3 (scroll way down)

Edit: See better suggestions further down.

For 10.8+

MAC does not support VST, zasfx, lb302 and soundfonts.

Link doesn't work.
There's a 1.2.0 build there though:

@Elextron 1.2.0 is much preferred to 1.1.3

Have we discontinued the old supported MAC in 1.2.1?!
But why?
https://github.com/LMMS/lmms/releases/d ... ac10.8.dmg
This is then our best MAC 10.8+ release
I will have to upgrade our info, as well :|

I'll try and sum up a discussion from Discord/#techtalk. We haven't but Homebrew dropped the older systems. So tresf needs to stitch the old builds together more or less by hand. In the end I don't think this will happen but there could maybe be a future package supporting older apple machines but someone needs to take the time to do it and if you want to know what kind of job it would take, just read the AppImage pull request on github. A nightmare. So, sorry!

Thanks for clarifying!
Thank you all so much! I will remember to come here for any future help.
