Eeemmm!
Well, minecraft music is kinda ambient and repetitive but it fits the game well, so for me it's one of strongest parts of this game. I also like it, because you can play it easily on any midi-keyboard-for-beginners just to warm up and prepare yor fingers for a more complex work.
Oh, that piano loop still lives in my head rent-free after all these years - it's not nostalgia doing the work, it's that the whole soundtrack was built on simple motifs that loop without ever feeling repetitive, which is way harder than it sounds. I've spent stupid amounts of time trying to recreate that soft, reverb-heavy pad sound, and honestly the biggest lesson was learning to leave space instead of layering everything at once. If you ever want to understand why certain sound design choices hit so hard across games, that site here might be exactly what you need, since their coaching comes from real experienced players who break down the reasoning behind mechanics rather than just handing you a preset. Start with one track, one instrument, and let the silence do half the job.
