Best technique to make vibrato?

As far as I can tell, there are basically two ways to make vibrato in LMMS:
1. Using the effect TAP Vibrato
2. Connecting the PITCH knob in the instrument window with an LFO controller

In my very subjective opinion, I believe that option 2 is slightly better. I have the feeling, that TAP Vibrato is adding a slight delay when playing notes. But maybe I'm just overthinking it.... I'm very interested in your thoughts, about your preferred technique in creating vibrato in LMMS.

You're right. My preferred vibrato, would be to use ZASFX instruments. If that's not possible, LFO has to be used.
However, if I can, I would send multiple notes playing at the same time to different tracks and add vibrato on pitch by hand. I don't typically need vibrato, but if I do that's how I would want to do it. After all, vibrato doesn't make sense on all of the note.
Alternatively, increase LFO amt over the course of a note.

Could you please share a screenshot of a demonstration, so I can understand it better?

Oh, I disagree here. I think vibrato is a great effect for sounddesign. Especially if you want to create chiptune lead sounds, like this here for example (5:54): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xbo1TmpskF4

I agree with you, I have miscommunicated.
I meant, when I make a sound that's vibrato in nature, I usually want a vibrato that increases in depth over the course of the note, like how tremolo increases in intensity nearing the end.
So, by "add vibrato on pitch by hand" I meant:

Consequently, if I place two notes that overlap slightly with each other but start from different positions, I don't want one note's vibrato to be affected by vibrato pitch envelope of another note. So, I'd need both notes on different instrument tracks so I can control their overlapping different pitch envelopes separately. This is what I meant by "multiple notes playing at the same time to different tracks".

Kind of how like, in Jousboxx- Buzzer Beater (should be there in LMMS demo projects), wherever Jousboxx has applied waveshaper-effect, they have placed three separate kicker instrument tracks for each of the three notes of a chord- because waveshaper on overlapping notes gives different output than overlapping output of waveshaped notes.
Like that, except for vibrato, and not perfectly overlapping (because if they overlapped perfectly there's no need for a separate instrument track).

Not necessarily. 50 cents is a little large.
