cant embed subwindows

[PMD2]

ive been using lmms for over a year at this point and this is the first time ive ever had this issue: i accidentally pressed something somewhere and now all my subwindows for song editor, mixer, etc are all no longer embedded. i have screenshots below of what i mean by this:

i know its not really that big of an issue but its really bugging me cause it works differently embedded than not embedded and cant focus

I notice that you are using 1.21! That is a very old release, and you should upgrade.
My recommendation is Alpha.1 -That is this one for windows:
https://github.com/LMMS/lmms/releases/d ... -win64.exe
Remember to BACKUP before you reinstall!!!!

I think your strange issue will be solved with 1.3Alpha.1, and it is generally better.
Note.. I do not recommend the sc. Nightly 'atm.

im actually using alpha 1.3.0 right now, i just picked an image off of google for the embedded windows since i didnt have one myself

So the issue is with alpha 1.3.0, and not 1.21
I need to see the substring of your alpha 1.3.0. That is the release-code written after a + sign
It is displayed both in the tittlebar, and in About-widget.
What does it say after the +-sign?

Yes, that is not Alpha.1.
You have a sc Nightly, those are the last on the DL-site and the buttons are purple. Absurdly and annoying beyond acceptance these Nightly are also named Alpha when they are installed.
The version you should try is called Alpha on the DL-site, and the buttons are BLUE!
For windows it is this DL

For Linux it is this DL
https://github.com/LMMS/lmms/releases/d ... 4.AppImage

Backup! Remove LMMS with the uninstaller. Remove the dot-file.
DL the version for your OS (You havent told us..)
Install.
