“PC” originally meant “IBM PC-compatible.” These were computers that were compatible with IBM’s PC architecture. They had a BIOS and could run all the same operating systems, like IBM’s PC-DOS and Microsoft’s MS-DOS. The difference wasn’t just the operating system, it was the architecture. That’s why a computer that came with OS/2 or BeOS could be considered a PC, but a Mac wasn’t a PC — it wasn’t “PC-compatible.”
In today's society PC generally does refer to computers in general, but culturally and historically PC is synonymous with Windows because of the compatibility context.

I totally agree with that description.
How did Linux start ?
UNIX and UNIX computers were expensive, so a few people hacked UNIX to make it run on a pc.

Mac is an Awesome Computer/OS type though.

Its funny to me, but I do not think lmms is the problem.
Many years ago, there was Cubuse. There was an AtariST version and a Apple version. ( same cpu family 68000 68030 )
AtariST had two midi ports. ( in out)
I suspect that mac users use mac specific programs.
Edit made a stupid typo: Cubase of course not buse.

Interesting. Very interesting. I believe that as well. But here they posted a vote and I voted. So that is my opinion on the matter.

Did you mean Cubase? (Looked like a small typo
)
Mac users are more than likely not using LMMS as garage band comes pre-installed, hah. Then there is Logic X for the ones that get serious. Who knows, when LMMS fully supports Mac we may see more people using Macs for music on these forums!

Those were the days. An Yamaha DX-7 ( from the computer club at work) , Atari ST with Cubase 2 ?
and two round midi cables. After days of trying, to find out the DX-7 could not play more then one instrument at the time.
First failed attempt at writing a hit.
