This sounds like late 70's early 80's type disco music.
But then again, this was the "House music," back in those days.

Sounding good.

Making a nice house track, seems not so easy, it gets too repetitive fast.

When I listened, to many old soundtracks, made during back my parents days, Disco etc. and even music, in the so called, modern days, I noticed alot of them, have alot of repetitive background music. Which loops over and over and over.

But one big trick is, "having a singer," especially for a Disco sounding House music like this, would make people/critics see the music track differently.
And what I also noticed, in alot of cases, if the singer and lyrics sound good, people would actually see, the looping music track, in a different manner. And, might actually praise it, as it would compliment the singers as well.

Imagine a singer, singing to that music track you made, and tell me if you don't see that music track you made differently.

Also, how strange, that I was checking out that same, "Bass," sample just the other day. Lol!
It kinda suits this soundtrack though.
As you said Gps, a few more short vocal phrase samples, a variety, spread out evenly throughout the track, would make this track sound, sound even better.

PS: Is that a voice I hear in the background? I know I'm not imagining things. Lol!

There should not be a voice in the background, I will have a listen.

And funny that you mention vocals. I have been wondering about some of my tracks how would they sound with at least some vocals.

About some disco, yep. There is variation but not in the bbe part to compare it to lmms.
That why that type of music is easy to put in a mix.

I have no idea on how to get a better flow though.

Some stuff I like to share with you guys. ( and some questions)

Besides the feedback I get on this forum, there are two online friends, of which I get feedback.
A woman who plays keyboard (and prob some more), and a guy, who has been or is a producer.

Found out yesterday he also worked for a radio station, and that he has been producing.
He is also a big fan of EDM.

Sadly however he lives literately on the other side of this world. Netherlands me, vs Australia.
I am 99% sure that we could writes hits together.

This is also the guy who wants me to stop using lmms and move to cubase or albeton.
(Not to FL studio) and go the midi out route. ( not let a computer produce the sound, but midi hardware)
The computer would only do the sequence stuff and prob the mixing.

Maybe one day if I win the lottery I might. and who knows how much lmms has improved further by then.
I am stubborn enough to not let go of lmms that easy.

Few questions though, because of the talk I had last nite, with both of them.

The female about buzz. Throw it out a windows, there is way to much bass in it.
Is she the only one who thinks this, or are there more people who agree?
I have put a lot of effort into that, two the same tracks and easy Q. which might be too much ?
I love how she is 100% honest though, that's the way I like to get feedback.
No need to spare my feelings.
If she is the only one though, I know I can safely ignore this.

Second question:
Does anybody here know something about software dac's and Linux?
Rumor has it they are not that good. Will using jack solve that issue ?

Or is the only solution, getting a hardware dac.

I am reading a lot of contradicting stuff about jack vs pulse audio.
Some say don't use pulse audio, some claim this info is out dated ?

It should not be that hard (lmms wise) for me to switch to jack. I already have it installed, but am not using it.

I do not like how jack highjacks all sound. As far as I get it, you can only have one output device at one time.
So you can't listen to you're mp3 when using lmms with jack ?

Most games will prob not work with jack ? (games as in Alien isolation )

If only I had more money, then I would have already build another pc, just for making music with lmms.

I am a big Linux fan, and I hardly ever boot windows 7 anymore ( pc is dual boot, I can choose on start up Linux (openSUSE) or win7.
If I do nothing though Linux boots, its how I have it set up.

I am however much more a Linux user, then a real expert.
I know jack has to do with sound, so has alsa, and pulse audio, but that's as much as I really understand about it.
( I believe jack still uses alsa, and I know pulse audio does)

Some daw on linux don't or did not even work with pulse audio, they told you to install jack.

Its way over my head, but Linux is very good for music production, because as I get it, its open source so you can tweak it as much as you want.
If you guys looked at that opensuse page though, you will be prob just like me, omg that's a lot of stuff you have to do.

About jack, I am looking for the real experts, who understand this far better then me.

Your new pianohouse one is way better, especially because it has bounce

I am still in shock over piano house. Not just because of the positive feedback, but I really like it myself too.

I have not forgotten though, you suggesting to add bounce to buzz.

Maybe buzz "only" needs a drastic overhaul. ( delete all but the part I do love about buzz, the ploughing bassline and drums ) lol


My personal taste, buzz 5 out of 10, pianohouse 9 or maybe even 10 out of 10.

My producer from Australia does not like the kick in piano house though, he likes the kick in buzz much more.
Last nite while listening to it, I think I hear what he means (not sure I agree though), but when I tried to change the kick, it killed the bounce in the percussion Seems that if I change the kick, I need to change the snare too.

Also tried a compressor on the kick, and now while I type this, I wonder if I need a clipper too.(or a peak controller?)
The compressor at least some of them, made the kick more fat, but it also instantly went way too much into the red.

I wish there was more to find online about filters, and mostly on when to apply them.

About the last one though, I can't wait for his advantage tutorial on EQ. I did not learn much from that one, but it might be a good vid for people without a technical background, to whom khz and such is something new.

That friend is not a fan of lmms, but maybe I can change that.
Problem with that is simple. Most people don't know lmms, and judge lmms on the sound I get out of it.
I was not that happy about the sound either, but E.Q and filters are the answers, and I am quite happy about the sound I get lately from lmms.
